Psychiatric Services

Following is a list of behavioral healthcare resources and services:

  • Aurora - serves patients and families experiencing impairment and distress due to substance abuse and addictions

  • Adult Psychiatric Unit - inpatient crisis stabilization

  • Community Outreach Services - provides onsite evaluation and treatment for residents of extended care facilities and assisted living facilities who suffer from mental and emotional psychiatric problems

  • Consult - Liaison Psychiatric Services - provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment to medically ill patients on medical and surgical units

  • Geropsychiatric Unit - provides inpatient services for senior patients suffering from emotional and psychological distress

  • Outpatient Psychiatric Services - serves adults 18 and older whose emotional and psychological needs can be met appropriately in an outpatient setting

  • Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) - a modern and unique intervention for people with severe or treatment-resistant depression, as well as other mental health diagnosis such as bipolar disorder, some types of schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease

  • Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS) - a new treatment approved by the Federal Drug Administration in August 2005 for treatment-resistant depression
